Accessibility
Built for everyone at the table.
The Tri-Cities Marketing Council is committed to making this website usable for as many people as possible, regardless of ability or the technology they use.
Our commitment
We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we review the site as it grows.
What we've done
- Semantic HTML landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer) and a logical heading order
- A “skip to main content” link for keyboard and screen-reader users
- Visible keyboard focus indicators on every link, button, and control
- Colour contrast that meets WCAG AA (4.5:1 for text) across the site
- Text alternatives for meaningful graphics; decorative visuals hidden from assistive tech
- Respect for your operating system’s “reduce motion” setting, plus an on-page control
- A layout that reflows and stays usable when zoomed or on small screens
